Head coach Tony Pulis has bemoaned Albion’s inconsistency following defeat to Crystal Palace this weekend.

Audio – Just Not Good Enough For Pulis

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail following the game in his post match press duties, Pulis explained that the performance was no where near good enough on the day, and he called on the side to come together over the international break so we can get some momentum behind us.

‘How do you legislate for it? I don`t know if it was confidence or whatever, but we`ve got to sort it out. You pick the same team as at Villa. I came here with high hopes when Jonny was fit and Gareth was fit. You put that back four together again and like I say against Villa when you play really well like we did, not just defensively, but also going forward, and then you get that performance. It`s chalk and cheese. It`s really disappointing. We can`t go from a performance of eights and then drop down to fours and threes. I`m not picking on one person that`s the group. They certainly weren`t on it.’

With injury disruptions again with Jonny Evans coming out with a hamstring strain and then Gareth McAuley feeling his calf once more with the problems he had – he missed Everton with the same complaint – what could go wrong did.

The gaffer also confirmed that James Morrison was feeling his ankle after the game.

‘It will be all down to the doctor. He`ll scan them tomorrow. The scans now are fantastic so he`ll know whether they`re serious
injuries or not. Fingers crossed they’ll be okay. If they’re anywhere near it, we’ll give them a chance to play – the home nations, we want to help them as much as we can.’
