Head coach Tony Pulis has confirmed that contract talks are ongoing with both James Morrison and Stephane Sessegnon.

With the media reporting that talks had stepped up a gear with Morrison given his closer return to fitness now following injury, speaking ahead of the weekend’s loss to West Ham, Pulis confirmed that he expected a conclusion with both players, one way or another in the next couple of weeks.

wba.co.uk have him saying in his pre game press conference.

‘Nothing`s been sorted out so that is obviously ongoing. That will be done in the next couple of weeks I should imagine, one way or the other. James has missed games since the Chelsea game so he`s been out for quite a while, but his attitude around the place has been first class. He`s training well, unfortunately it`s taken a little bit longer than what we thought and what he thought. Contractual issues and dealings will be done with Richard Garlick and the players and the player`s agents so thank goodness I can stay out of that.’

Pulis went on to say.

‘Irrespective of what I think or what the Chairman thinks, everybody within a deal has to want to be part of what we`re doing and that`s very important for everybody.’

Adding for Morrison directly.

‘James has been here a long time so he knows what the football club is and what it`s about. He`s been a great servant, he`s a top player for me. But it has to be right for James, it has to be right for the football club.’

Morrison did get 45 minutes under his belt in last weekend’s Under 21 friendly against Derby, so he’s getting closer to a full return now.
