Head coach Pepe Mel has revealed that there are doubts surrounding the fitness of Billy Jones, and he also said that new signing Thievy Bifouma may be in line for his starting debut.

Bifouma obviously set a new Premiership record last Saturday when we faced Crystal Palace and lost three one, as he found the net 36 seconds after being introduced as a substitute at half time, and Mel was obviously delighted with the impact he had and his performance.

‘Thievy is a young player who is hungry to be a big player in the Premier League. The last match was good for us, and it’s possible he will be in the starting line up.’

The news isn’t so good for right back Billy Jones who has picked up a knee problem. Mel explains that at the moment he is doubtful for the game, and should he not make it, then Steven Reid will take his place.

Other than that, we still have Jonas Olsson, Nicolas Anelka, and Stephane Sessegnon sidelined with injury, but it’s hoped they will be back in contention for our next match.
