Opinion: West Brom’s Christmas form shows exactly what sort of side Bilic has turned them into

|

The Championship season has continued to excite for West Brom, and now seeing as we’re 19 days into December, the form that the Baggies are showing over the festive period is something to get very excited about as they sit at the top of the Championship.

The fact that Slaven Bilic’s side are top is obviously helped out greatly by the fact that Leeds United can’t hold onto a lead after they comically slipped up, going from 3-0 up at half-time against Cardiff to claim just a point against the ten men of the Bluebirds.

Back to the Baggies, though, and The Hawthorns is quite obviously the place to be this season Bilic and co who are in charge at the West Midlands club are flying, and have done a superb job to win three of their four games so far this month and remain undefeated.

The win against Birmingham, 3-2 at St. Andrew’s having come from behind twice, says so much about the way this West Brom side are playing their football, as they never gave up in the clash and stayed in the tie to turn it around and claim all three points.

That win, followed by Leeds’ capitulation against Cardiff, means that the Baggies are now two points clear of 2nd and a whopping 12 points ahead of 3rd placed Preston who are chasing a spot in the automatic promotion places puts Bilic’s side in a brilliant position.

Will Slaven Bilic guide us back to the Premier League?

Yes

No

Assuming the Baggies can keep their form going through the festive period then it’s hard to see how Bilic’s side won’t be celebrating promotion this season, especially if they come through Christmas and the New Year’s Day clash against Leeds with maximum points.
