Opinion: If West Brom can pull off massive transfer then promotion will be a guarantee

|

West Brom’s squad at the moment is one of the most impressive in the Championship. The Baggies have got talent aplenty, and it looks like rumours are starting to swirl ahead of the January transfer window that The Hawthorns could be set to welcome another talented ace.

The rumour in question has come in the form of an exclusive from 90min.com, and whilst the player that is being linked with a move to West Brom is also being targetted by a number of Premier League sides, it doesn’t mean that a move to the West Midlands club is off the table, even if the winger would cost more than £20m (ITV News).

That player is Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen. The young midfielder is incredibly talented, and it will come as no surprise to those who have been keeping a close eye on the winger that he’s the second-highest goalscorer in the Championship with a whopping 14 goals, only bettered by Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic.

At the age of just 22-years-old, the numbers that Bowen is putting up is simply incredible. It should come as no shock that the likes of Newcastle, Bournemouth, Burnley and Brighton are all after the wide-man, who has bagged 15 goals this season, and 51 in 108 Championship games already in his career (Transfermarkt),

Those numbers certainly aren’t to be sniffed at, and considering that West Brom are already top of the Championship and have scored more goals than any other side, adding a man who brings goals galore is only going to bolster their position as title chasers.

Would Bowen be a good a signing?

Yes

No

Signing the 22-year-old certainly isn’t going to be easy given the Premier League interest in him, but with Slaven Bilic in charge, a vision for a future in the top flight and the amazing atmosphere around the club, as long as the Baggies can stump up the £20m+ that the Tigers want then getting him in would be huge.
