The Daily Mail’s transfer ticker linked West Bromwich Albion with a move for Sheffield Wednesday’s goalkeeper Keiran Westwood at the end of this week.
It’s fair to say there’s little in the speculation and it seems to be mostly a ‘pick clubs out of hat’ routine for transfer rumours given there’s little else going on and the rumour mill must be fed.
They claim Wednesday want to move him on as they look to trim their budgets and lean on the fact that it was claimed by their manager that he missed the friendly in midweek with an injury, but the player disputed that on social media.
West Brom join the likes of Stoke, Cardiff, Southampton and Celtic as being linked with the 33-year-old Republic of Ireland international.
With us already adding Sam Johnstone and Jonathan Bond to our goalkeeping ranks under Neil Cutler, there is some debate as to whether our third spot goes to a youngster or whether we would look to add another experienced body and given the Westwood suggestion, a number of fans would be happy to see him arrive.
He’d be a good number 2 keeper

Imagine he’d be expensive. Looks like a fair few clubs linked in the original story so probably his agent trying to get a new deal

Don’t know what he’s been up to the last few years but when he was at Coventry I thought he was a great goalkeeper. Must be in his 30’s now but I wouldn’t be against taking him

I wouldnt say no to that, always rated him. He would certainly add some experience to the ranks and could see him pushing Johnstone for a starting place – backing up Cutler's sentiments exactly.

A good number 3! I mean Johnstone, Bond, and him would be a good combination.
