One Man Gets A Slating – A New Right Back Is Music To The Ears Of These West Brom Fans

|

West Bromwich Albion may have picked up their first win of the 2018/19 Championship campaign against Norwich City last weekend, but although there were positives from the game, it’s fair to say we had a few negatives.

One of those negatives for some fans was the performance of Allan Nyom and he’s struggled to win over the majority of fans following his arrival the other season under then manager Tony Pulis. His first season was slightly different though as he had plenty of supporters, that support just quickly disappeared.

The right-back slot has been a big topic of talk this summer and it’s no secret that head coach Darren Moore has been actively looking to strengthen. Failed moves – for whatever reasons – for Luton’s Jack Stacey, Yeovil’s Tom James and Rangers’ James Tavernier – most recently as covered this morning speculation linking us with Crystal Palace’s Joel Ward probably haven’t increased Nyom’s confidence.

Personally, I don’t think Nyom is a bad player, he impressed in what I saw of him at Watford but some moves just don’t work out and clearly, it’s in the best interests of both parties to organise a parting of the ways this month – we just need somebody in first.

It seems Nyom is more than aware of that himself as the E&S have reported that in response to a fan on social media – he replied with “Don’t worry, I’m leaving soon.”
