With it known that Jonas Olsson will sit down after the Euros with our new head coach before deciding on a contract extension, it’s been rumoured he is off to West Ham.

Sky Sports ‘understand’ that the newly promoted Londoners are hopeful of concluding the capture of the Swedish centre half shortly, whilst rumours abound that Spurs are also interested in securing his services.

In fact the list goes on according to Sky, Aston Villa, Fulham, Everton and even Turkish based Galatasaray are suitors.

With Olsson entering the final 12 months of his contract such talk was inevitable, but speaking to wba.co.uk earlier today, Dan Ashworth rubbished the reports.

‘There is no truth in any of the stories about Jonas Olsson. We certainly haven’t heard anything from anyone. Jonas is still under contract here, he’s an important player and an important part of our future.’

So that clears that up then!
