Jonas Olsson has admitted it was disappointing to lose to Wolves, especially given our first half performance, but we secured safety and that’s all anybody should care about at the moment.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Olsson described losing the Wolves game but securing safety on the same weekend felt like ‘losing the battle, but winning the war.’

‘I am disappointed but we have achieved the big goal for the season. It doesn’t take the shine off the bigger picture but obviously we’re disappointing now at losing, especially to our big rivals, but that’s the way it is in football. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Let’s make Everton pay for it on Saturday.’

He’s right, it is very disappointing given the run we’ve been on lately but the focus has to be on survival given where we have been all season, so there’s no benefit to focusing on the loss or losing any confidence from it. Just pick ourselves up and look to enjoy ourselves in the final two games of the season and finish as high as we can.
