With a year left on his contract, it looks likely that the Baggies will move fast to secure leading scorer Peter Odemwingie to a longer contract.

Speaking to the E&S Odemwingie’s representative, David Omigie, said that he expected extension talks to begin soon.

The current contract runs until the end of next season and the Baggies have an option to extend it by a year, but following his very successful debut Premiership deal, it’s believed the Albion will offer him a completely new contract that represents his newly found value to the club.

‘Talks should take place any time from now. We are just waiting to hear from the club, hopefully in the next week or so. Peter is OK. He’s very happy at West Brom and he will consider whatever is put on the table by them.’
