Roy Hodgson has said that he’s positive that Peter Odemwingie won’t be out for a massive amount of time with his ankle injury.

Speaking to wba.co.uk after Odemwingie missed the match against Man United, Hodgson said.

‘He was not very close to being fit for today, he’s got an ankle injury and is taking his time with that one, but we’re hoping it won’t be much longer now.’

Following on from previous comments by Dan Ashworth on the bid from Wigan, Roy added.

‘Peter’s not for sale and if you’d have seen the size of the bid you would probably have been laughing all the way out of here. I don’t understand what provokes teams to put in bids which are obviously so ludicrously far away from what the player’s value is. I suppose I could put a bid in Wayne Rooney!’
