Roy Hodgson has said the pleasure he took in seeing the Baggies despatch Liverpool came from the fact it’s not something we do very often, and not because he was their former manager.

Quoted on wba.co.uk Hodgson said of any potential ‘revenge’ feelings:

‘I made a lot of friends at Liverpool, who I have a lot of time and respect for, so I don’t take any particular pleasure at all in that.’

He does however feel immense joy in the win because he felt the Baggies totally deserved the victory.

‘The pleasure I do take is in beating Liverpool because it’s not something West Brom do very often and today we did it and deserved to do it. We were the better team today.’

Very respectful, and good to see. I bet he danced a jig!
