West Bromwich Albion youngster Oliver Burke hasn’t had the greatest of times at The Hawthorns following his arrival from RB Leipzig and it’s now been reported that Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have been scouting him with an eye to a future move.

The 21-year-old is something of an enigma I think it’s fair to say, plenty of fans are relishing the chance to see the Scot in proper action for us following his £15million arrival as they are well aware of the performance levels he’s shown himself capable of whilst with Nottingham Forest prior to his move to Germany, but to date he only has four starting appearances to his name – with 15 substitute showings and one goal.

Neither Tony Pulis nor Darren Moore seems to have got the best from him (they aren’t alone) yet and whilst he has his supporters, a number of fans haven’t been overly impressed when he has been given a shot – but the talent is there.

Despite the claim, it comes from the Sun on Sunday (p61) so I wouldn’t overly put much stock in it but apparently scouts were in place for the recent EFL Trophy tie against Blackpool where Burke did chip in with an assist, and whilst I can fully believe scouts where there, tying it to Burke to create a story feels forced.
