Former Welsh international striker, Hal Robson-Kanu, had a weekend to remember last week, as fresh from signing a new contract extension with West Bromwich Albion, the 30-year-old found the back of the net in our clash with Middlesbrough to gift us another three points.
The victory on the day kept us at the top of the Championship table, and we’ve now opened up a small gap as well. Having penned his 12 month extension, the goal was actually his tenth strike for us following his arrival back in 2016, and although his goal scoring record doesn’t make for great reading and he often comes in for criticism, fans on social media after Saturday’s action had plenty of praise for him.
Already worth the ink on the paper, important goal from robson-Kanu #wba

#wba Robson-Kanu gets a lot of stick. He has always been better than Rondon and always put his body on the line. Great to have him sign a contract extension. Important squad player. #PuskasAwardWinner #WeGotHimOnAFree

People moan about Robson Kanu yes I agree he isn’t amazing, but he’s a player that can do a job at this level. He’s got us 3 points #BoingBoing #Wbafc

As I said when the new deal was announced, HRK might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but manager Slaven Bilic is obviously pleased with what he brings to the table and ultimately that’s all that matters.
