Youssouf Mulumbu has signed a new two year deal keeping him at the club until the summer of 2016.

The club also hold a third year’s option in their favour.

Speaking to wba.co.uk after the deal was concluded, Steve Clarke said.

‘This is good news for everyone, Youssouf is a talented player and the fact he’s willing to sign a contract extension shows we’re doing the right thing as a club. He’s an important player for the group – the number of games he’s played in the past few seasons underlines this fact.’

The midfielder himself said elsewhere on the official site.

‘I’m delighted and really happy. I came back from my holidays and saw my friend Nicolas (Anelka) had signed. Now I’ve signed a new contract. I’m 26 and I think I’m in a good team. I’m really happy with my situation and I hope we’re going to progress again. We are the best team in the Midlands and we need to try to prove that again this year.’
