Youssouf Mulumbu has apologised for his moment of madness that will now see him suspended until May 4.

Mulumbu took to Twitter following the game to say.

‘I’m really sorry…It doesn’t look like me…Not a good example for the kids and all the WBA supporters.’

Speaking to wba.co.uk Steve Clarke said of the 95th minute incident.

‘I think Youssouf thought he had been clipped and he overreacted. After the game, I said to the group in general that they have to control their frustrations. The red card didn’t affect the game but it will affect the group for the next three games. If you want a reason for what he did, I would guess it was frustration.’

Clarke added that he was hopeful James Morrison will return in time for the next game.
