Match Stats: Norwich v West Brom – A Great Fightback For Our First Win

With an opening day defeat to Bolton Wanderers as head coach Darren Moore kicked off life in the Championship in 2018/19, we did take a point from our second game against Nottingham Forest in midweek, and today we faced Norwich City at Carrow Road looking to pick up the first three points of the year.

Hopes were somewhat high ahead of kick-off, a full debut for Dwight Gayle following his impressive showing in the last match, but Chris Brunt and Jake Livermore in midfield took the interest of social media fans.

The early grumbles grew when the hosts took the lead, but having shown signs of clicking in the last match as we finished strongly, we got our acts together and got back on level terms when Jay Rodriguez hit home from the penalty spot. He added a second and Harvey Barnes got himself back on the scoresheet. Hal Robson-Kanu got himself up and running as he hit our fourth, and even though Norwich hit back twice more, we ended with a 4-3 win and our first three points of the campaign.

Norwich did see a penalty of their own saved as well.

Slow and steady improvement but a win is a win.
