It’s being reported that Manchester City have held talks with West Bromwich Albion over centre half and skipper Jonny Evans.

The BBC were reporting earlier this afternoon that talks had taken place between both clubs over the last few weeks but no agreement had been reached over a fee for the Northern Ireland international.

He has two years left on his deal and was made captain this summer, and West Brom have already turned down a reported bid of £10million for him from Leicester City and 12 months ago we also rebuffed interest from Arsenal in the 29 year old.

Whether this reported interest stems from Pep Guardiola confirming he was after another centre half this summer or whether there’s actually anything in it remains to be seen, but selling Evans at this stage would be a strange step to take.

With ongoing speculation about Nacer Chadli, it’s also being reported that West Brom are holding out for around the £25million mark for the player with Swansea City said to be circleing.

With Gylfi Sigurdsson’s impending move to Everton close to happening, we could see that move gain pace in the coming days.
