Ralf Rangnick has been offered the job, Chris Hughton is now the favourite at Norwich and the bookies are linking an assistant of Jose Mourinho.

Things are set to hot up this week in terms of the appointment of our new manager.

The E&S are carrying quotes from Rangrick’s agent, Oliver Mintzlaff, who says.

‘West Bromich Albion gave us time for consideration. An offer was made and we will meet up this week for a final decision.’

Albion however insist that no offer has been made to any interested party at this stage, but we can’t be far off a final decision now.

The E&S also state that sources close to Alan Curbishley, Michael Appleton, and Gus Poyet are now playing down the links and the chances of them being offered the job, whilst Steve Clarke, and Mike Phelan have also both been sounded out during our interview process.

Chris Hughton after apparently being dropped as an idea due to Birmingham wishing to fight tooth and nail over compensation, has now also apparently been given permission to speak to Norwich to replace Paul Lambert who has been announced as the manager of the third best 🙂 Midlands club in the Premiership.

The Birmingham Post build up the Clarke links further following his departure from Liverpool. The League Managers Association have now confirmed this is the case.

The bookies list Mourinho’s former assistant as second favourite following Rangrick for the job.
