Head coach Tony Pulis has praised the West Bromwich Albion side for their defensive efforts against Manchester United at the weekend.

Heading to Old Trafford for the game against United, whilst the hosts had the better chances and possession on the day, a disciplined showing saw us to a scoreless draw and for Pulis he knew it was an extremely valuable point.

Speaking to Sky Sports in his post game press conference, a delighted Pulis knew the players had given everything so it was all praise to them in his eyes.

‘It was magnificent – to come and get a point at Old Trafford. I thought we were really resilient and well set-up in lots of respects. The one thing I will say is we played very similar against Arsenal two weeks ago, but once we won the ball, we got that first pass off and created lots of opportunities. I think we had eight great chances against Arsenal, scored three goals.’

He went on to add.

‘Today we didn’t do that. We kept giving the ball back to United and that added to the pressure, then you need a little bit of good fortune at times and need people to play very, very well and that’s what we did. But in possession, we must do better than that.’

The Birmingham Mail also have him post game as saying.

‘The bigger clubs have got the money, the skill and the ability. The smaller clubs in the league who haven`t got the money to buy that skill and ability, you have to work very hard on organisation. That`s what we have to do. Be very organised and well set-up. Then you need a little bit of good fortune as well. I`m delighted for them, they`ve worked really hard today. They were very good and worked so hard together as a group.’
