Shane Long has said he won’t let his penalty miss against Liverpool get to him and he’ll still step up if required against Spurs.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Long admitted he would’ve been gutted had his miss contributed to us not taking all the points in the game, but he was delighted with the reaction of the fans following the miss.

‘It was sickening, but I think it would’ve affected me more if it had cost us points. Hopefully I can get some more chances in my next game and take them. The fans know that I give my all and their support lifted me straight away. I’ve learnt that about the West Brom fans, whether things are going good or bad, they’re always behind their team.’

Always good to hear players appreciate the fans, and it’s not surprising to hear Long talk confidently about taking another penalty. One miss won’t define his season, but you do know he’ll be even more determined to find the net next time out – especially if he does get the chance from the spot.
