Shane Long has said that picking up 3 points against Stoke will go someway to redressing the balance after we lost points by late goals in recent matches.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Long said that we were more than capable of picking up all 3 points, and clearly he’ll be looking to continue his scoring form.

‘I think we need to get three points against Stoke and only then could we look back on the first three games and say three good performances, and unlucky to not have more points. We can be proud of our work, but unless we can get those points, it will have been a bad start to the season.’

Long is obviously bouyed by how quickly he has fitted in at the Baggies, but he wants the team to pick up points just as much as he wants to keep finding the net and he doesn’t matter where the goals come from as long as we start pushing ourselves up the table.

‘As long as the chances keep coming my way, it will be nice to just keep scoring goals, but the main thing is getting points. We’ve got plenty of goals in the side with Brunty and Mozza and Odemwingie and Tchoyi, and goals could come from anywhere this season. We can take a look of positives from the last two games but we need to start turning the good games into results.’
