Speaking to Daz Hale on Radio WM this evening Milan Baros’ agent, Pavel Paska, confirmed what we all suspected that the Daily Mirror’s report that the Baggies are in for Baros is quite simply wrong.

Asked directly whether Baros would be coming to West Brom Pavel Paska responded ‘No,no,no’!!! Instead Baros will return to Lyon following his loan stay at Portsmouth where he infamously set up Pompey’s winning goal in the Semi Final with West Brom with an obvious handball.

The story always seemed ridiculous as the wages that the player might want would be well out of the Baggies reach. The former Liverpool and Villa man is no better than what we have and were he to join he would smash through our wage structure something Chairman Jeremy Peace and Manager Tony Mowbray have insisted won’t happen.

Most of the rumours flying around at the moment are the product of overly enthusiastic journalists or agents attempting to secure better deals for their players. I suspect that this season, just like last, the signings will come out of the blue and be for players that are relatively unknown on these shores.
