While it comes as no shock that our ‘Pole in Goal` has moved to Old Trafford nobody predicted the move to be in the form of a season long loan, one can only presume that this is some sort of trial period before the deal is made permanent in the summer. The benefit for Albion in this deal is the permanent signings of young Goalkeeper Luke Steele and Defender Paul McShane.

The Huge Pole who joined Albion for Hertha Berlin in the summer of 2004 will undoubtedly leave the club with the best wishes of the fans who have some great memories, these include his heroic substitute performance at Old Trafford which effectively saved us from relegation, his breathtaking save at Wigan and his brilliant performance at Everton which proved to be his last senior game for the club.

When Tommy was good he was world class but when Tommy was bad he had a stinker. He was never the same player after his infamous howler at White Hart Lane to gift Spurs 3 Points, in my opinion his form did not recover until the Everton away game. However, he is very young for a goalkeeper and I have every confidence that the PIG will go on to be a United Star.

Good Luck Tommy.
