Last summer’s record signing Brown Ideye has tonight completed a move to Greek Champions Olympiakos.

The 26 year old’s future had long been in doubt following the departure of Alan Irvine and he never seemed to really fit under Tony Pulis and back in the January window there were huge rumours that a deal fell down at the last minute that would’ve seen him depart far earlier than he now has.

With the arrival of Rickie Lambert and Salomon Rondon it was only a matter of time this window in reality.

He moves to his new club for an undisclosed fee but we’ll have no doubt taken a hit on what we paid, and his registration has gone through in time for the Champions League squad cut off today meaning he is eligible for their European group action.

Having arrived from Dynamo Kyiv for a reported and listed £10million in the press, he leaves having made a total of 19 starting appearances for us, with a further 12 from the bench, for a return of seven goals.

Not too shabby a return really but he never seemed to find his feet apart from glimpses.

His only appearance so far this year was against Port Vale in the Capital One Cup.
