It’s not often West Brom can win a game 2-1 whilst only having one shot on target, yet Arsenal aren’t your normal football club.

On this day four years ago the Baggies hosted an Arsenal side aiming for the Premier League title after an electric start to the season, yet despite going ahead just before the half-hour mark thanks to Olivier Giroud, West Brom managed to fight back thanks to a James Morrison volley as well as a Mikel Arteta own-goal near the half-time whistle to claim a 2-1 win.
As well as Santi Cazorla missing a second-half penalty, it was a classic Arsenal slip-up as the Gunners dominated in possession whilst also managing to keep West Brom at bay from their own goal, and Albion supporters on social media remembered the result fondly all these years later.
Here’s what some West Brom fans had to say about the now-famous win on Twitter…
How can we forget that day . We beat Arsenal 2-1 with one shot on target #wba

Great day, got blind drunk afterwards

Back in the day when we survived off less than 30% possession and won games 2-1 with one shot on target.

Some fans, though, remember Arsenal’s penalty miss more than anything…
where’s the cazorla penalty

Took my son to this for his first footy game on his 8th birthday. Great fun on the Brummie Road End, especially when they missed that late penalty!

That was the game Cazorla skied a penalty if I remember right

Arsenal would go on to come second that season as Leicester City completed the fairytale and won the Premier League title.
