Roy Hodgson knows our primary aim is to stay in the league this season, but he knows we can finish as the Midlands’ top club for the first time since 1979.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail Hodgson said we should be capable of finishing this season as top dogs and he realises what that will mean to the fans.

‘It would mean a lot of course, it’s not happened for a good number of years. Again we mustn’t allow those supplementary goals to take away from our primary goal which is to make sure we are still in the league next season, so we have the possibility of being above them.’

I think staying in the league and finishing as top dogs goes without question at the moment doesn’t it.
