Roy Hodgson has said he would prefer to wait until the Baggies have secured their Premiership status before sitting down with the board and discussing the future.

Speaking to Sky Sports Roy remained coy on whether he would sign a contract extension, but at the same time he went to lengths to explain he was happy here and clearly he’s not against having a longer future at The Hawthorns.

‘I am relaxed about things, I’m enjoying my time here. I’ve said to the chairman it would be nice if we can make certain we are on safe ground and we know where we are heading if we are to sit down and talk about the future. We know were we are and what relationship we have with each other, I think the club are relaxed about it as well.’

Hodgson added that whilst he couldn’t give the fans any guarantees, as obviously no deal has been signed, he did say.

‘There is no reason for them to be concerned. I’m quite enjoying not being pressurised into making a decision. When that moment comes, I’ll be hoping we’ve sat down and etched out what we need for the future to make certain the life we are enjoying today, a reasonably position in the league, will carry on.’
