The has been a fair bit of speculation linking George Thorne with a loan to either Birmingham or Derby, and Roy Hodgson is certainly open to a move if it benefits the player.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Hodgson said.

‘We would look to loan him out, but it would have to be somewhere where I thought the move was going to benefit him. I’d want him to be going somewhere where the training and intensity was good and the matches would be interesting and educational for him – but most importantly he is taken because the person taking him wants him to be one of the first names on the team sheet.’
