Roy Hodgson has said he would prefer the situation with Ben Foster to be sorted out sooner rather than later, so Albion can begin preparations for next season.

Speaking to Sky Sports the head coach said said of the on loan goalkeeper.

‘As far as I’m aware, discussions haven’t taken place yet – but they will have to sooner or later as we need a keeper for next season. We need an answer before the end of the season. If it’s not going to be Ben, it will have to be somebody else.’

Hodgson explains that what he wants to avoid is waiting too long for Birmingham to give an answer, and then missing out on other potential candidates.

‘I would like to situation cleared up very quickly.’
