Roy Hodgson has said he would be disappointed if the rumours surrounding Nicky Shorey and a move to Forest were to become true.

Speaking to wba.co.uk the gaffer said.

‘I’ll be very sad if Nicky comes banging on my door because he wants to leave to go to Forest. At the moment, I can offer Nicky Premier League football and I hope that’s what he’ll choose.’

Hodgson adds that he expects big things from Forest this season under McClaren, and you have to assume from the comment about offering Nicky Premier League football, that the links to Liam Ridgewell (at least as a left back) have to be off the mark.
