Roy Hodgson has said he thinks he now knows what our best XI is, but there’s plenty of room for players to work their way into his thoughts.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Roy said that after working with the players for 3 weeks now, he thinks he knows the best XI at the club now.

‘I think it is important to know your best XI and I have a very good idea what it is.’

More importantly though for the players, he adds that there are a number of them not in his initial thoughts for that XI who could very easily force their way in based on their performances and work in training.

‘There are players who are currently not in that best XI who could quite easily break into it because I can see in training they have very good qualities.’

Whilst Hodgson isn’t against changing his mind on that selection he does say it is down to the individual player to prove him wrong and the harder they work to prove him wrong, the benefit is the harder those in his initial thoughts will have to work to keep their place.
