Roy Hodgson has handed the plaudits to Odemwingie and Brunt following our 2-1 win over Liverpool this weekend.

Speaking to wba.co.uk after the game Hodgson admitted it would’ve been nice had Odemwingie been on the scoresheet owing to his work in creating both penalties but he could take nothing away from Brunt’s mentality in stepping up and putting them in.

‘It would’ve been nicer in some ways had Odemwingie been able to score the two goals, it was great work from him, I thought he was outstanding.’

Chris Brunt won Man of the Match during the game, and Hodgson added that he was ‘drained’ after his performance.

‘I’m pleased for him, his performance really needs to be highlighted once again – he’s a spent force, totally drained.’
