Roy Hodgson has said that Craig Dawson’s performances for the England U21 underlines the belief that he will grow into a very assured Premiership centre half.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Hodgson admitted he is expecting big things from Dawson as he develops more and learns more, and his two U21 performances just highlight how correct the club’s judgment on the player has been.

‘To do as well as he’s done is a big bonus for him. It’s also good for us as it does confirm what we think, that this is a player who is capable of playing in the Premier League. Craig’s performances were very good for the U21s and I was very pleased for him. He played with great attention, concentration and focus to his game. I see that every day in training.’
