Roy Hodgson has said he has no intention of selling Peter Odemwingie, and ignoring the idle speculation that’s sparked again.

Speaking to the E&S the gaffer said he dismissed all the rumours and speculation that takes place in the media and online and only took a firm offer landing on the club’s desk as something to warrant his attention.

‘I take any rumours with a serious pinch of salt. Unless and offer lands on the desk then I dismiss it as speculation. We’re definitely not looking to sell Peter.’

To build on that stand point Hodgson adds.

‘We didn’t make him our highest paid player so we could sell him. We did so because we want his goals to keep us in the league.’

There was some kind of tweet from Odemwingie recently that seemed to start the rumours again, and of course the latest club supposedly expressing an interest is Sunderland.

Really can’t see it coming to anything in the January window.
