Saturday might have seen West Brom fail to claim a win against Charlton, but a draw on the day was enough to see the Baggies climb back up to the top of the Championship table.
Sam Johnstone can’t win can he? Why are #wba fans so quick to criticise? I’m genuinely interested because whatever it is, I’m not seeing it. I’m not saying he’s the complete goalkeeper but he’s a lot better than Albion Twitter would have you believe.

Yet it was far from a perfect day for Slaven Bilic’s side, and for goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, it was a particularly bad one with the Baggies no. 1 being blamed by some West Brom supporters as the reason behind the Albion failing to cling on to their lead.
But a band of supporters on social media weren’t having any of this criticism for Johnston, with Birmingham Mail journalist Kieran Doody being the leading voice in the discussion and offering the Baggies keeper support after a difficult game against the Addicks.
Here’s what some West Brom fans had to say on Twitter about Johnstone…
Baffles me too. He’s been brilliant, so has the rest of the team

A few weeks ago, he was a hero!! Some fans are so fickle and keen to point the finger after every game and the fact it can be done on social media now, just makes it so available to see! 🙁

Albion fans seem to pick a player and it doesn’t matter what they do, they will always be criticised. This season it’s Johnstone despite keeping us in a lot of games this season and one of the reasons we are top

With Brentford now just seven points behind West Brom at the top of the Championship table, the race for promotion appears to be getting closer and closer than first imagined.
