“Here We Go Again” – Contracts Are A Familiar Saga For West Brom Fans But 18 y/o Should Sign Deal

|

The words West Bromwich Albion and contract negotiations often fail to go hand in hand, least that’s how it feels to fans as we see our next generation move on to bigger and brighter things, but with claims that the club are now trying to tie down the impressive Nathan Ferguson to a new deal, we’ll have to hope this one goes according to plan.

With the Rekeem Harper saga fresh in the minds, 18-year-old Ferguson has impressed plenty with his breakthrough so far under head coach Slaven Bilic and the young fullback has featured in three Championship games so far in the season of 2019/20.

His existing deal runs out next summer and the Express and Star have recently claimed that Bilic wants him secured to a new long term contract to fend off any suitors given his performances so far.

Having been shown faith by Bilic, hopefully we get a quick resolution here but there is probably a message for the club in terms of not leaving it until a player has 12 months left on their deal before they get given a proper chance to impress.
