Gerrard States The Obvious

Steven Gerrard has stated the obvious ahead of the Baggies clash against Liverpool by insisting that the Liverpool players need to take the blame for Hodgson’s dismissal.

Speaking to the Daily Mail the Liverpool captain absolved Hodgson of any blame by stating that the players didn’t perform well enough, and often enough while he was in charge.

‘He’s a good guy and a fantastic coach, the players didn’t perform consistently for him. We, as players, have to take responsibility. You can’t just point the finger at the manager – we have to look at ourselves.’

Liverpool’s loss was certainly our gain and it’s nice to see Gerrard speaking sensibly about what happened.
