Gera Fears Allayed

West Brom manager Tony Mowbray said today that the injury to Zoltan Gera is not as bad as the club had first feared.

Gera had to be replaced in the closing stages of the defeat at Pride Park on Saturday.

It was at first feared that the Hungarian might have torn a calf muscle, but after taking a closer inspection and talking to the player those fears have been allayed and he should be fit for the up and coming game against Norwich City.

‘I spoke to him after the game and he doesn’t think it’s as bad as he thought it was,’ Mowbray told the Birmingham Mail.

‘I think he’s probably just strained a few fibres in his calf and we are hopeful it was more cramp than a tear or a pull.

‘We will see how he goes but we certainly don’t rule him out of this weekend.’
