Summer signing Craig Gardner has said none of the players will be hiding when we face Spurs this weekend, we will be going for the win like always.

Speaking to wba.co.uk ahead of the game, and following on from the Everton disappointment, the midfielder said categorically ‘no one is hiding’ as we work hard to turn our form around and get our season going and he assured fans players were doing all they could.

‘We need to start winning games and getting points. It’s still early on in the season and the team is still new and gelling together. Every day is crucial for us and work on the training ground is crucial but it’s tough to take at the moment. We’re a team and we will take it on the chin. No one is hiding.’

Gardner goes on to assure fans that we will ‘get there’ and things will turn for us because we have a talented group and they are putting the work in so when fitness for some players is right, when simply gelling happens with others, he expects us to be a good unit and get the results that we all want.

‘We’ve still got three or four players missing, once we get a settled team and work with that it will be much better.’

Looking back to the Everton game, Gardner says he felt we started to show some good things in the game and started to show that things were slowly gelling for us and things were clicking between players in passages of play, but unfortunately we have been severely punished for two individual errors and you can’t legislate for them and unfortunately it means we were on the backfoot and chasing from the beginning and then really when he felt we were getting back into the game properly, we had the second error and that put the game beyond us.
