Ben Foster has been named in the 23 man England squad for the World Cup and he’s also talked about his delight at picking up the Supporters’ and Players’ Player of the Season Awards.

Having been presented with the double award following the Stoke game, Foster told the wba.co.uk.

‘It’s nice, it is really nice. It’s similar to a couple of years ago when I got it as well, it’s a lovely feeling. I think everyone would agree it’s been a disappointing season. The main thing is we’ve stayed in the league.’

Foster went on to credit the fans for their support over the course of the season and for staying behind as they did for the lap of appreciation following another loss last weekend, and he said the whole squad really appreciated that.

As for the England call up for the World Cup, Foster added.

‘It will be incredible and it’s something to tell the grandkids about. I’m over the moon. Not many people get to say that they’re going to a World Cup so to say I’m going to one in Brazil makes it that bit more special.’
