Steve Clarke has revealed that Ben Foster has traveled to see a specialist following his groin problem.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Clarke said that Foster had jetted over to Germany to have the injury assessed, but at this moment in time he’s rated as 60/40 for the Wigan match.

‘With Ben we’re waiting on the diagnosis, and fingers crossed it’s positive. I’m hopeful he’ll be available to play on Saturday, kicking with his right foot. Hopefully it’s something we can manage similar to what we’ve done with Shane over the last few weeks. But if I had to rely on Boaz to play, then I’d be happy with that.’

James Morrison is expected to be back in contention for the Wigan game, and Steven Reid has also now returned to training.

‘We have to be careful with Steven because he has been out for such a long time, we showed patience with Chris Brunt to get him back involved and we’ll show the same patience with Steven.’
