Ben Foster is hoping another gruelling pre season campaign will help up catch teams on the hop when the season kicks off this season.

The 30 year old has said they are being well put through their paces and he knows it should stand them in good stead for the coming campaign, and although nobody expects the great start we had last term to happen again, they want to get as close to it as possible and then much improve our consistency in the second half of the season.

Speaking to wba.co.uk the goalkeeper said.

‘We had a really great start to last season and I think our pre season training schedule really benefitted us. For the first third we caught a lot of people off guard because of how fit we were. That’s exactly what we’ll be trying to do again this season.’

Foster says the club have made no secret of the fact that they are doing long double sessions of training in pre season, so hopefully if off pitch activities don’t take the limelight in January, and we have a good start, we can show that lessons have been learnt and finish on more of a high.
