It’s mixed news again injury wise for Steve Clarke ahead of the QPR game.

Billy Jones, Chris Brunt, Steven Reid, Liam Ridgewell and Gareth McAuley are all struggling, but the good news is non of them have as of yet, been definitively ruled out of this weekends match.

Speaking to wba.co.uk assistant head coach Kevin Keen said.

‘We’re working hard to get everyone fit for Saturday, but if not we’ve got the cushion of a couple of weeks for the international break, but we are trying for Saturday and we’ll see what happens.’

As for the players themselves, he adds.

‘Billy took a tackle and is a bit sore, we’re looking at scans and things like that. Hopefully for Saturday, but if not definitely the following game. We’ll keep an eye on Brunty, it’s maybe not as bad as it looked, but we’ll see how we go.’

Jerome Thomas has also returned to training this week as he bids to return from his minor knee surgery. Keen says that this weekend is most likely going to come too quickly for the player, but he’s somebody who should be back up to speed in a few weeks.
