It’s being reported that West Bromwich Albion are prepared to receive Tottenham Hotspur’s last throw of the dice for young striker Saido Berahino.

With the January transfer window closing in a few days time, and with knowledge of deadline day shenanigans from the London club well known – and the subsequent toys and pram episode from the striker whose had a woeful first half of the season in terms of game time and goal return given his clear talent, it’s now being reported that Spurs are lining up a single bid of £17million to try and tempt our hand.

If that’s not accepted it’s said they will move on, and then speculation can continue about Newcastle United – who presumably have no idea what stage their bid is at given we had one on the table from the summer that was never received and constant talk the last few weeks about offers that are yet to come in as well.

The Daily Mail say that whilst the overall offer is a good few million short of their August final gambit, this time they are prepared to remove the scheduled payments which also irked us, and just pay the sum upfront to try and sweeten the deal.

That would fit with reports that head coach Tony Pulis wants to move him on swiftly so he can do some deals himself before the window closes to improve the squad.
