We have been running a poll over the last month to see who Albion fans wanted as captain of their club.

There were four players in the running including Davies, Kevin Campbell, Neil Clement and Paul Robinson.

Curtis Davies come out on top of the results with a total of 43% of the vote. The fans second choice was a close one with only 3% seperating Paul Robinson and Kevin Campbell with Robbo coming in second.

Davies has been backed in recent weeks by Baggies boss Bryan Robson to be captain of Albion for many years to come.

The young defender has been an impressive figure in the back four at Albion since his £3 million move from Luton Town and his displays have made him a firm fans favourite.

Davies’ performances have been noted by England Under 21 coach Peter Taylor with the defender named in the last two squads.

Hopefully Davies can boost his chances of a future full England cap by helping keep Albion in the Premier League.
