With new West Bromwich Albion head coach Slaven Bilic now in place at The Hawthorns, fans can expect a healthy kick up in the summer transfer rumour mill speculation but one claim this weekend of an interest in former Aston Villa right back Alan Hutton hasn’t gone over well for plenty of fans.
With some interesting battles with our local rivals in recent years, that was renewed last season after our drop from the Premier League and we had extra special matches in the Play-Off campaign, with them ultimately taking success and Hutton has long played his part in those clashes.
The 34-year-old former Scotland international is now a free agent and it was claimed by The Sun that we had now entered the chase for his signature alongside the likes of Nottingham Forest and Wigan Athletic.
Express and Star journalist Matt Wilson quickly rubbished that speculation on social media though.
Expecting Dawson's move to Watford to be completed tomorrow, but no interest in Alan Hutton. #wba keen to lower the age of their squad this summer

Alan Hutton would be an absolute despicable signing and it just shows the calibre of player we are now going to be looking at. Bit of a wake up call #wba

If this is true I would like to know where I send my season ticket back to. We do not want Alan Hutton anywhere near our club. #wba @WBA https://t.co/jdnHIntY23
