It has been reported this afternoon that West Bromwich Albion skipper Jonny Evans could leave for only £3million if the club fail to remain in the Premier League this season.

With Evans being linked heavily this January transfer window with both Arsenal and Manchester City, the BBC have reported that they believe he has a £3million relegation clause in his deal even though he’s contracted up for another 18 months.

They say that although nobody at the club are trying to push him out this window, and everyone remains on board with head coach Alan Pardew’s words about having a desire to keep him with us this year, the fact he has already supposedly told the club he’s not interested in signing a new contract or an extension, there is obviously the line of thought of cashing in and reinvesting those funds.

Pardew has spoken about being partially open to that and with the deadline just over a week away now, you would think the clear cut off point would be midweek as after that getting a player or two in would be more problematic.

This report links Leicester City once more and also Everton with having an interest.
