Roy Hodgson has said he is not optimistic that Zoltan Gera and James Morrison will return from injury quick enough to play a part in our run in.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Hodgson explained it wasn’t guaranteed they would return, but with time running out, it’s now looking more unlikely and of course the club don’t want to rush them for fear of either having a breakdown and not being able to recover fully over the summer.

‘I’m not very optimistic. I would have to be 100% sure I wasn’t endangering their pre season or next season by putting them back in – we don’t need to. We’ve achieved our goal with more than four games to go which is fantastic so it would take a lot for me to throw them back in. We want them fit for next season.’
