Keith Downing has said he is delighted with the transfer captures this season and the impact they have had on the first team.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Downing started by praising Ben Foster.

‘In the last month or two, Ben has been in top form for us and Saturday was a fantastic performance. Ben kept us in the game with some fantastic saves. He has grown into his position and grown into the club, Ben thoroughly enjoys it here and likes working with Dean.’

Moving on from the goalkeeper position, Downing called the capture of Billy Jones a no brainer.

‘We always thought as a free transfer Billy was a steal. We have monitored Billy for a number of years, so when contractually it was clear he was a free, it was a no brainer. To have come in and played the number of games he has, without looking out of place, is testament to the quality of player that he is.’
